A LATE decision to preserve the main grass arena for the club's premier Horse of the Year Show in August meant that British Showjumping Guernsey's two-day Summer Show was staged on the all-weather surface this year.

The change of venue did not lessen the number of entries, which once again included representation from Jersey.

With technically demanding tracks designed by visiting course builder Keith Bristow, the scene was set for two days of magnificent jumping competition.

Single class wins were recorded by Nicola Fallaize on Ballysimon Boy, Tracey Bufton on Killbally Diamond, Jodie Travers on Pickwick de Frieres, Lydia Collas on Zinox and Lisa Torode on Swynnerton.

However, it was Charlotte Breban on her versatile chestnut Papillon III and Katie Fallaize on J M Breezer that laid down their bids for the senior rider award with two wins apiece on the first day.
