GUERNSEY-based rally co-driver Will Rutherford-Child has become the 2012 English Rally champion by winning the latest event in their championship, the Woodpecker Rally, based in Ludlow, Shropshire.

Rutherford-Child and driver Julian Wilkes from Taunton have won six events from six this year to win the championship with a perfect score in their 1400cc Vauxhall Nova VXR190.

The pair won the Millers Oils 1400 BTRDA Championship in July when they won their category on the Nicky Grist Rally, so this latest win makes them double champions in 2012.

‘We’re really proud to have won these championships in such a great year of sport and we could not have wished for anything more,’ said Rutherford-Child, pictured.
