GLYN SMITH hailed the battling qualities of his side after defender Dave Marrin salvaged the Priaulx League leaders a point with a 93rd-minute equaliser at the Track.

Two goals down after 38 minutes, Robbie Williams pulled one back just before the break and, having wasted a glorious chance to level with four minutes of normal time remaining, he watched colleague Martin slide in the leveller from close range deep into stoppage time.

Unsurprisingly, Smith was a happy man after the final whistle.

'If you play well below par, as we did, and come away with a point you have got to be happy,' he said.

'I think it was a hell of a battle. We didn't turn up for the first 30 minutes – we didn't turn up at all.'
