GUERNSEY FC have been rewarded for their FA Vase heroics with a home draw in the third round next month.

The Green Lions have been matched up against Erith & Belvedere in the last-64, ironically the side is a league place higher and just four miles away from Erith Town, who GFC beat in the second round last weekend.

After producing an astonishing comeback from 3-0 down to win 4-3 and put their name in the hat, GFC coach Tony Vance, pictured, hopes his side make the most of it.

‘We have used our get out of jail card and performed a Houdini-act, so it is important we don’t fall at the very next hurdle,’ he said.

‘Putting aside Zico’s injury [Ryan-Zico Black’s broken leg] on Saturday, it was a miraculous comeback in footballing terms and I can’t give the lads enough credit for it.'
