AFTER an unusually quiet start to the season in terms of big breaks, Martyn Desperques set the Image Group Premier Division alight with a brilliant 115 clearance.

The island snooker champion's first ton of the campaign came in the second frame of his match against Steve Le Poidevin and looked unlikely when he first missed a pot in splitting the pack having made just eight.

Le Poidevin was presented with a reasonable chance to make full use of the scattered reds, but his miss provided Desperques with the perfect scenario.

From there, Desperques cleared all 14 reds and various colours with relative ease, but was made to sweat on 97 when he nearly screwed the white into the middle bag.

Desperques held his nerve to roll the blue in followed by pink and black, and went on to complete his seventh 3-0 win as La Villette Hotel Gremlins opened a 5-1 lead on Ex-Service Hot Butts.
