WHEN it comes to cricket, Jason Shambrook's job is all encompassing and total.

The GCB development manager is in charge of planning, delivery and staffing of cricket development within the island, a job with enormous importance due to Guernsey's progression in the world of cricket and ever increasing professional outlook.

Having come to the island in the mid-1990s with the intention of finding work within the sport, it didn't take long for him to get involved in the local scene.

After a brief stint at the OGH Hotel, Shambrook volunteered his services to Mike Kinder, who was then heading junior cricket development.

Before coming to island he had already taken a level one coaching certificate in Northamptonshire and upon arriving in the island he completed a month's work, which then led to a summer and, ultimately, becoming full-time within the sport.
