SEBASTIAN VETTEL'S surge to the world drivers' championship also propelled young Adam Hutchinson to the Rubis Fantasy F1 title for 2012.

The 17-year-old Grammar Sixth Former's Whacky Racers team was languishing in the 200s only a month or so ago, but flew through the massed field of armchair pundits to finish joint top of the standings and win the first prize of £100-worth of fuel.

W. and B. Green's 'You're Havin a Nick Clegg' team matched Hutchinson's final tally, but lost out to their rival on the tiebreak question of how many points will the world champion score – but only just.

The tiebreak answer was 281 and while Hutchinson guessed 312, his rivals went for 314, so it could hardly have been much closer.

Third was Zak Parsons' 'Eat My Must Again.'
