Using contacts from alumni Ross Gledhill, both the EI Sturdza-sponsored women's and men's teams were entered into a day of matches against current university teams and the surrounding areas.
The weekend started with a friendly warm-up match against current students which allowed the squads to familiarise themselves with the playing surface and hall layout.
With multiple markings on the floor, it took a little time to find their rhythm and adjust to the environment.
Both teams gave a good account of themselves with the women beating the mash-up side comfortably.
The men encountered stronger opposition, which gave them a taste of what was to come the following day.
