Guernsey FC have made local history by reaching the FA Vase last-16 after an incredible fourth round match.

The Green Lions were 2-0 down early on, but a brace from Ross Allen levelled matters at half-time.

Dom Heaume's header looked to have completed a turnaround for GFC, only for Rye to make it 3-3 late on and send it to extra time.

The drama continued as Rye retook the lead, before Heaume struck again to level it in stoppage time at the end of the first period.

But moments after the restart, Rye made it 5-4, only for Nigel Hutton to dramatically equalise for GFC once again.

And the afternoon was rounded off with a 115th minute winner from Dave Rihoy that completed a barely-believable game.

Wow, what a game. Made you proud to be a Guernseyman.

Nice to see that Rye have said the GFC fans and players were the best they have had at their ground, even going as far as to suggest that their fans go and support them if GFC get to the semis.

Bring it on, well done to all involved

What a fantastic performance, effort & result for GFC. Unbelievable stuff. Their never-say-die attitude is a massive credit to everyone connected to the club - the fans included!

Of all the teams remaining in the FA Vase, three of the top four favourites are from the north east (Spennymoor Town, Shildon & Dunston UTS from Gateshead - who won the trophy last year!). The other one is Guernsey FC!

Being a Geordie but having previously lived in Guernsey for 8 years, I'm hoping for a Dunston v Guernsey final! Just don't ask me who I would support...!!
