AS ONE of English cricket’s brightest young chief executives he oversaw the transformation of the main county ground at Sussex.

Now, Dave Brooks, who retired as the county’s CEO last autumn, is playing a role in shaping the future development of island cricket and, posisbly as part of that, the redevelopment of the King George V Field, the home of island cricket.

Brooks, 45, has been in the island this week, attending his first Guernsey Cricket Board monthly meeting since his election as an ex-officio member in December.

He is excited by the prospect of helping Guernsey cricket move onto a new level and likes what he sees in the planned £3.5m. Stuart Falla-driven KGV project.
