Another Priaulx League football fixture never need be postponed for rain again.

And the same goes for domestic rugby matches.

Football fans can celebrate because the regenerated King George V Field project is riding to the rescue. And an antidote to chronic fixture situations, such as the domestic game now finds itself in,  should be in place from early in the 2013-14 football season.

With Guernsey locked into the wettest winter in recent memory and Priaulx League postponements numbering dozens, amid 270 GFA games in total, the KGV Project Board has reviewed its initial plans for a 3G pitch as part of a £3.5m regeneration of the ground. It has increased the size by five metres in width and 20m in length, sufficient to play all senior football and, if pushed, national league rugby.

Form an orderly queue!
