SPALDING UNITED may have a sizeable playing budget, but Tony Vance would not swap his Guernsey FC side for it ahead of today's FA Vase fifth-round clash.

The Green Lions will make local history when they travel to Lincolnshire for the last-16 tie against the 'Tulips', who have just signed right-winger Lee Beeson.

But despite accepting his side are underdogs, Vance is not fazed.

'We haven't faced a side before that have spent £5,000 on a player for that particular game, so of course they will be the strongest side we have played,' he said. 'But am I worried?

No, because there are players in my team that are worth more than that.

'In terms of the magnitude of this game, it has got to be up there as one of the biggest ever played in the history of Guernsey football, probably on a par with Murattis.'
