BRETT PEARCE has been dubbed a 'joy-to-watch ride' after the youngster broke the Pleinmont lap record at the second Guernsey Kart and Motor Club motocross meeting of the season.

The 20-year-old blitzed the rest of the MX2 line-up in finishing one of the races in a time of 1min. 15sec., taking 2sec. off the mark set by British champion Carl Nunn late last year.

In sunny and dry conditions, Pearce was comfortably the star of the show in a depleted field and earned considerable praise from motocross captain Jai Vaudin.

'At the moment, Brett's riding is smooth, it is slick and it is extremely fast,' said Vaudin.

'I have said to him that he is a joy to watch right now and, to be quite honest, he is not racing the rest of the riders now, he is just racing the clock.'
