ADAPTING to a 'bobbly' Footes Lane pitch will hold the key to Guernsey FC's 'destiny' as their push for CCL Premier Division promotion resumes today.

The visit of Wembley is just game 18 of 42 for the Green Lions, who face 14 more home league games after today, within a likely seven-week spell.

It is the first football at 'The Lane' in 11 weeks and GFC coach Tony Vance is glad that his side can run out in front of the Garenne Stand fans for just the 10th time this season. 'The people who have worked on the pitch recently have done an excellent job and it will be great to get a game on it again,' he said. 'But I do have my concerns because when it started to get bobbly this time last year, we didn't cope too well and really struggled at times to find a style of play that worked.

'We are playing at a higher level this year and we need to grind our results and adapt immediately, or else our aims will quickly start to falter.'
