Vale Rec 1, Rangers 2

FOR the second time this month, Rangers inflicted a major blow on Vale Rec's title aspirations last night.

Once again, Paul Ockleford's men were good value for their win on a frustrating night for the hosts at the Corbet Field as they lost further ground on Bels at the top of the FNB Priaulx League and now cannot afford any more slip ups.

'We got what we deserved – nothing,' was Carl Le Tissier's honest and succinct assessment of his side's performance, which also spoke volumes for the efficient display put in by the visitors.

Rangers gave as good as they got in the opening exchanges, when both sides created one excellent chance apiece only for Sean Mills and Aaron Ockleford to shoot too close to the respective goalkeepers.
