THE 100th Muratti Vase final in three years' time is most likely to be the first to be played on a 3G artificial surface.

But while two of Guernsey's most influential and respected coaches are not fazed by the prospect – and see

it as an inevitable consequence of modern technology and business plans – the Jersey Muratti coach is not so enamoured.

Craig Culkin, pictured, is not opposed to a 3G playing surface at Springfield but on the day the Jersey Football Association announced its plans to finally tear up the grass on the famous Jersey ground in time for the 2015 Island Games in the sister isle, he said he would not like to see a Muratti played on it.
