Bourgaize wins it for champions

THERE is no better way to celebrate a Priaulx League title success than with a victory and Joby Bourgaize, a true Belgrave, allowed that to happen at the Track last night.

The former island star, who now has three Priaulx medals to his name, struck an 88th minute winner, his shot from outside the penalty box taking a deflection off a defender and beating Jody Bisson in the Rec goal.

In the first half Bourgaize had seen a goal disallowed when striker Wayne Bishop strayed offside.

The champions were playing some decent football at that stage, but chances were at a premium and it was the case of more of the same in the second.

Bourgaize also saw a header cleared off the line just before half time.
