SARNIAN James Jurkiewicz has captained Oxford to a record 117-73 victory over Cambridge in the Varsity Swimming Match.

Two swimmers from each team entered each event, with four points awarded for first place, descending to one point for the swimmer who placed fourth in the race.

The competition started strongly for the Oxford team who gained both first and second places in the women's and men's 200m individual medleys.

The strength and superiority of Oxford's finest swimmers continued to overpower the light blue swimmers across a range of events.

Oxford were ahead 50-30 going into the break, with the men having won maximum points in every event leading up to it, with Jurkiewicz coming second to his Oxford teammate in the 100m backstroke to claim his third Oxford Blue.
