JERSEY'S dominance of the Women's Muratti continued at Northfield on Saturday, as clinical finishing was the difference between the two islands.

There is no question that the visiting Caesareans deserved the victory, given to them by goals from Maria Ascenseo and an Eve Watson brace, but had the hosts been slightly better with the chances they did create, it could and would have been far closer.

Certainly, the gulf in class was not what it was two years ago when Guernsey last hosted the match and they will be encouraged by the improvements that are being made.

Vicki Rang was superb at the back for the Sarnians and needed to be at times in the first-half, although former professional Jodie Botterill should have given the visitors an early lead when she broke the offside trap, but could not beat Kayleigh Marquis in the Guernsey goal.
