HOME advantage could prove hugely beneficial to Andy Priaulx when the DTM visits Britain this weekend.

If the first race of the season a couple of weeks ago at Hockenheim is anything to go by, the 2013 season will be an exciting one after regulation changes brought in by the organisers.

Priaulx was forced into retirement due to car damage in that race, but he hopes to be in the middle of the action in his Crowne Plaza Hotels BMW M3 DTM when the series arrives at Brands Hatch circuit for round two.

'I have some very clear objectives ahead of me – finish the race and rack up some points,' he said.

'It was disappointing to have to retire with a couple of laps to go in Hockenheim, but it was the right thing to do with gearbox problems and damage to the car.'
