NINE ponies, 18 horses and many more helpers and supporters made the annual pilgrimage to compete in British Showjumping Jersey's Liberation Show at their ground in Trinity parish.

It is the biggest jumping show of Jersey's season and is only surpassed in the number of competitors taking part by Guernsey's own Horse of the Year Show in August.

This year, the Sarnians were unable to field a junior team and it was left to the senior side of captain Emma Dorey (Snaffles Purple Patch), Cathy Best (L'Amour), Mel Round (Cobrino Cruise) and Jodie Travers (Pickwick de Frieres) to fly the flag for Guernsey.

After an equal two legs, the resulting jump off produced some exhibition rounds with Travers, Round and Best all going clear, while the Jersey squad picked up multiple faults along the way, sealing the Guernsey senior team's success.
