GUERNSEY will hope that the return of Patrick Ogier, pictured, helps them to hit back from last year's crushing blow in the annual inter-insular battle with Jersey.

Hosting this year's event at Longcamps, the Sarnians will hope that a strong-looking team sees them avenge the 14-2 reverse they suffered across the water in 2012.

With the event also falling just a fortnight before the start of the Island Games, at which six of this Sunday's line-up are competing, it is also ideal preparation ahead of Bermuda.

As well as Ogier's inclusion upon his return to the island, Guernsey also look to be boosted by the news that Jersey's best player, teenager Scott Clayton, will not be involved as he continues his professional career.
