GUERNSEY FC have no plans to play any pre-season friendlies ahead of the new campaign.

Tony Vance, pictured, confirmed that he is instead planning to hold in-house training games within his squad in the build-up to their debut in the Ryman League Division One South.

That kicks off on 10 August and the GFC coach believes that despite having no matches before then, his side will be just fine when competitive action begins, having started pre-season training last night.

It is a big contrast to both the 2011-12 and 2012-13 pre-seasons, when GFC played three and four games respectively. That included Exeter City, AFC Wimbledon and Nuneaton Town all coming to the island.

Footes Lane would have been unavailable during July anyway due to remedial work, although Bels did offer the use of the Track if it was needed.
