DESPITE having a youthful and inexperienced-looking team, manager Alison Frankland remains confident of success for Guernsey's swimmers in Bermuda.

Of the 20 named in the team, six are debutants and, in total, only 11 represented Team Guernsey two years ago in the last Games in the Isle of Wight.

Top of the absent list are the retired Ian Powell and the unavailable Kristina Neves, the absence of the latter winner of nine individual 2011 medals (including six golds) being a major discussion point in the build-up.

However, Sarnian team manager Alison Frankland prefers to steer clear of that particular thorny topic and focus on those who are making the trip across the Atlantic.

'We have a team that has worked incredibly hard on their preparation and I believe we will come up with some medals in Bermuda,' she said.
