AN OLYMPIC showjumping course designer will be in the island this weekend for the first ever Odey Wealth Grand Prix Horse Show.

Bob Ellis will be putting together the jumps for the Channel Islands riders at the two-day event, which will be held at Le Bordage in St Saviour's.

Ellis, a former British competitor, was the designer at the London 2012 Olympic Games and was last in Guernsey in 1979.

At that time he was competing and he won a puissance competition.

Show organiser Keiran Wyatt-Nicolle said it was an honour to welcome Ellis back.
