Guernsey's cycling manager Paul Brehaut was delighted with his team's showing in the time-trial, after they took two golds and a silver away from the Clearwater course in the east of the island.

Veteran Ann Bowditch's inspired ride over the 35km time- trial course earned her individual gold and, helped by gutsy rides from Karina Bowie and Marina Bleasdale, also secured team gold.

Tobyn Horton, the road race gold medallist, just missed out on bronze, with a fourth-place finish, but he and fellow scorers Matt Osborn (fifth) and Josh Gosselin (14th) pipped Jersey for the team silver, both behind the Isle of Man, who were led home by individual winner Tony Roche.
