FRONT STREET in Hamilton was paved with gold for Guernsey last night.

Tobyn Horton and Ann Bowditch both completed highly successful NatWest Island Games campaigns with individual golds in the fast and furious town criterium cycling races around the streets and along the waterfront of Bermuda's capital.

Immediately afterwards, Horton, who was on the podium with his two Team UK Youth teammates, Jersey's Richard Tanguy and Greg Mansell, emphasised just what has brought Guernsey so much success on two wheels at these Games.

'It's just such a great support network and a great team with all the mountain bikers there too,' he said.

'Every Guernsey cyclist has come away from these Games with a gold medal and that's awesome.'
