MITON OPTIMAL have their destiny in their own hands following a crucial win over fellow Swoffers Weekend Championship title contenders 2mi Wanderers on Saturday.

Having wrapped up the two points by early afternoon in a low-scoring encounter at the KGV, Tom Kimber and the majority of his team were then able to get down to Port Soif to see the other club with championship aspirations, Cobo Tigers, slip up and leave Miton in pole position with one round of matches left.

The equation for the defending champions is simple – beat Odey ORs at Port Soif on Saturday and they retain their crown.

Both Cobo and Wanderers, who meet in the other match at the KGV, are still in with a chance of the title providing they win and Miton lose. First place would then come down to net run-rate.
