HAVING already made history in the spring, another year of record-breaking achievements is high on Bels' agenda.

In their brilliant 2012-13 campaign, they became the first side in the nine-year history of the Guernsey FA Cup to lift it on top of the Priaulx League title, which was achieved with just one defeat all season.

But it is an even bigger hoodoo they want to put right in the coming months and right the wrongs of their 4-0 Upton defeat against Jersey Scottish at Springfield.

Despite now winning six league titles in their history, Bels have never won the famous old Priaulx Cup back-to-back.

Furthermore, no side in the local game has done it since the great Sylvans side won the last of their nine successive titles in 2002, more than a decade ago.

However, with an attack whose quality is unparalleled in Guernsey and possibly even Channel Islands football right now, coach Glyn Smith is targeting a title retention.

'Obviously we want to retain the league title and have another crack at the Upton because I feel a little unfulfilled by that defeat,' he said.
