THE entry list for the inaugural IAG Guernsey Grand Prix next month is still up in the air, as teams finalise their Tour of Britain plans first.

However, race organisers for the prestigious Town criterium event ending on St Peter Port's waterfront are not concerned by the lack of confirmed entries.

Taking place on Sunday 22 September as part of a bumper day of top-level sport, the race is a British Cycling B event, just one level below the elite categories.

With a first prize of £1,000, it is expected to attract some big UK names but it also clashes with the final day of the week-long Tour of Britain, the final race of the British season.

Until the final entry list for that is confirmed, likely to be near the end of next week, then the exact nature of the visiting elite riders is still unknown.
