GUERNSEY have moved up two places in the National Three London and South East League table after a convincing win which also brought a welcome bonus point.

Jordan Reynolds' men ran in five tries and withstood a strong Thurrock fightback after half-time.

It was a good performance by Reynolds' team, although there were a few worrying moments early in the second half when the home side pushed over three times to pull back to within two points at 24-26.

Thurrock had started the game well but with tries from Robin Le Cocq, Malcolm Barnes and Matt Thomas, one of them converted, and three penalties from the same man Sam Whitehead, Guernsey went in at half-time 26-3 up.

After Thurrock's revival further tries from Matt Ball and Dale Rutledge, both converted by Whitehead, made the game safe.

Malcolm Barnes was nominated man of the match and the coach was a happy man.

'It was good to get the bonus point,' he said.

'It was a really good first half and then we fell asleep for 20 minutes at the start of the second.'
