COACH Jordan Reynolds has encouraged his side to push on towards a top six place after Guernsey claimed their first win of the National Three London & South-East season on Saturday.

A five-try display saw the green-and-whites win 40-24 away at Thurrock and move up to 10th in the 14-team table with bottom-side Basingstoke next up at Footes Lane this weekend.

'We were desperate for a win because we knew it was what we needed to find our feet in this league again,' Reynolds said.

'Now we have picked up that win, but we are not taking anything for granted in the next game, regardless of who we are playing.

'I have earmarked games that we have the potential to win, which, if we did that, would get us up to mid-table. If we can get up into the top six, that would be fantastic.'
