IT IS now three wins on the trot for Guernsey – and this was the most convincing yet.

Admittedly, the scoreline took on a more lop-sided look over the final 10 minutes when injuries had reduced Barnes to just 12 players, but the bonus-point victory was thoroughly deserved by the hosts, who are seeing more front-foot ball week on week and showing just what their backline can do with it.

The forwards did more than their fair share in the point-scoring stakes on this occasion, though, contributing five of the eight tries in the final home game of the year at Footes Lane.

'There were an array of tries scored and they showed all the things we have been working on,' said head coach Jordan Reynolds, for whom this was a belated birthday present a day after the event.

'It was a good display of the way we are trying to play – a bit more entertaining and attacking rugby – and it was good to get that third win in a row.'
