LEE SAVIDENT admits it would be a gamble for Guernsey to select him for the ICC World Cricket League Division Five, but he 'definitely' wants to be on the plane to Malaysia in March.

The former Hampshire professional, who last played for Guernsey in the 2012 inter-insular, missed the 2013 season through a back injury and took on the role of island squad manager for the European T20 Championship in Sussex.

But it is not something the 37-year-old wants to do on a full-time basis just yet.

'I did it last year and don't get me wrong I enjoyed doing it. But I would still class myself as a player,' he said.

'It is out of my hands. I can only do as much as I can do and yes it would be a risk if they picked me, but if I am fit enough to play a part I would like to think it would be the decision they would make.'
