Young edge to Panthers squad

AHEAD of a clash that could go a long way to deciding the Division Three South title, Guernsey Panthers have been forced into some personnel changes against Meon.

Their debut season in the UK leagues has been so far, so good for the Panthers, who lead the way for the only automatic promotion spot.

However, Meon are effectively only one win behind in second place and with a game in hand as they lead the chasing pack that still also includes Eagles Two, Brize Jets, CD Phoenix Two and Sussex NRG Pumas.

This will be Panthers' ninth game of 14 and their most vital yet, as they look to avenge their agonising 39-38 opening day Beau Sejour loss this coming Sunday in Hampshire.

Panthers will be without shooter Kerri Brown after she picked up an ankle injury, meaning that Gemma Green, the teenager who has impressed when given the chance so far, will be in action again.

Livvy Ellis and Roxanne Wylie are also unavailable, meaning that Emma Bevan and Abbie Greening have been called up to the 11-player squad.

Guernsey Panthers squad

Nena Copperwaite (captain), Emma Bevan, Donna Brehaut, Elaine Donaldson, Amy Fallaize, Claire Green, Gemma Green, Abbie Greening, Lorna Hall, Isla Murdoch, Zola Saunders.
