Isabelle joins list of absentees as GFC head to Chipstead

GUERNSEY FC's centre-back pairing of Sam Cochrane and Jamie Dodd have been hailed as 'remarkable', as a wafer-thin squad travels to Chipstead tonight.

It is the third Ryman South away game in a week for the play-off chasing Green Lions, against the side 22nd in the table and fighting for their lives to get out of the relegation spots.

However, the formbook could mean little as GFC manager Tony Vance spent yesterday frantically trying to put together a travelling squad, amid unavailabilities and a nightmare defensive injury list.

Jacques Isabelle is the latest to be sidelined, joining Tom de la Mare, Angus Mackay, Alex Le Prevost, Tom Strawbridge and Nick Trebert, while Simon Geall may travel, depending on whether he can shrug off his own knock.

If he does not, there will be only three recognised defenders and no right-back, while the work-tied list includes Chris Tardif, Dave Rihoy and Glyn Dyer.

Tonight's match kicks off at 7.45pm, with live updates on our Twitter feed @GsyPressSport.
