Guernsey relegated from World Cricket League Division Five

A FOURTH straight defeat has condemned Guernsey to relegation from Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division Five.

The Sarnians were beaten by 63 runs by Malaysia today at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

The host nation made 286 for 7 from their 50 overs with captain Ahmed Faiz scoring 103 while Guernsey skipper Jamie Nussbaumer claimed three wickets.

In reply, Guernsey made 223 for 8, Lee Savident top scoring with 76.

The Sarnians had already lost to the Cayman Islands, Nigeria and Tanzania in the tournament and will face Jersey, who have gained promotion with four wins from four, in their final group game on Wednesday.
