Having already been condemned to relegation, the Sarnians lost a thriller by one wicket to unbeaten Jersey at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

Guernsey had posted 217 all out from their 50 overs with Ollie Newey top scoring with 56 coming in at number three while Anthony Kay claimed three wickets for the Caesareans.

The Greens made a good attempt at defending their score, but Jersey reached their target with six balls to spare. Ben Stevens made 55 before Dean Morrison saw his side home with an unbeaten 63, although last man Tom Minty hit the winning boundary.

Guernsey will face the Cayman Islands in tomorrow's fifth/sixth play-off while Jersey meet hosts Malaysia in the final.
