For 45 minutes at Blanche Pierre Lane it was a contest, but after Luke Winch had shot the champions ahead on the brink of half-time and Ollie Smith doubled the advantage just short of the hour mark, Saints' heads dropped and had it not been for Glyn Smith resting his two stars long before the end, the margin may have been far wider.

Winch ended up with two goals in the 5-0 win, with the others coming from Robbie Williams and Joby Bourgaize.

Meanwhile, at Northfield the hosts beat Rangers 3-1 with goals from Joe Alvarez, Ryan Lamb and Josh Steel. Shane Billien scored Rangers' consolation.

Across the road at the Corbet Field, Vale Rec and Rovers were battling out a dramatic 4-4 draw.
