Bels' 3-0 win at Vale Rec secured the one point they still needed from five games to make it back-to-back championships for the first time in their history and book an Upton spot against either St Paul's or Jersey Scottish.

The champions' coach Smith has been in charge for three years now and is targeting more silverware in the hot seat, starting with the Jeremie Cup final on 19 April and then the Upton a week later, both at the Track.

'I am delighted to have won the title again. The lads deserve it and the aim is to win it for the next couple of years at least as well,' he said.

'We have been the best team on the island over the past couple of years comfortably. Rec ran us close last year and North were strong this year, so it hasn't been easy, but we have a settled side playing well.

'Sides will come back at us strong again next year, especially North, but we are confident because we have a group that will still be together for a while yet and some good youngsters coming through as well.'
