Sharman has faith in 'great players'

'I WOULDN'T swap any of my players for theirs.'

That was Steve Sharman's view yesterday, on the eve of the 2014 Insurance Corporation Muratti Vase final.

Head coach of Guernsey for the first time, Sharman has been in relaxed mood in recent days ahead of tomorrow's clash with Jersey at Springfield.

He is still to name his starting XI – which will be done just hours before the game – but he has a clear plan of action to go out and make it three in a row for the Greens.

Springfield has been a happy hunting ground recently for Guernsey and should they win, it will be the first time there has ever been three Sarnian successes away from home in a row.

Sharman's confidence is high, but he knows the threat Jersey will pose.

'I have 18 great players at my disposal and whoever I select has my backing to go out there and win this single game of football,' he said.

'We have the capabilities to win in many ways. We would love to win playing lovely attacking football, but if need be, we have game plans to win in different situations.'
