Bels book their place in Guernsey FA Cup final

BELS moved closer to a historic third straight Guernsey FA Cup success after clinically defeating their greatest rivals 3-1 last night.

After last week's defeat to North in the Stranger Cup final, the league champions were determined to gain revenge and they deservedly did so.

In the end, it was an own goal and two well-taken finishes that did the trick, all of them after North mistakes, but on the balance of play, it was fair.

Neither side was anywhere near their free-flowing best as a long season draws to a close, but Bels won't mind one bit.

Their victory over the same opposition in last year's final marked the first time any team had ever retained the silverware in the cup's 10-year history.

Now, they are just 90 minutes away from making it a hat-trick on Tuesday, when they face Rangers, again at Blanche Pierre Lane.
