The centrepiece at the heart of the Commonwealth Games, Hampden Park will stage some of the biggest moments of the competition, with more than a thousand athletes going all out for gold and glory in over 48 events in seven days.

'Even with the drop in the number of seats because they have lifted the pitch, it will still be as big a crowd as I have ever raced in front of and I can't wait,' said the island 400m record-holder Tom Druce, who is one of four athletes, along with Lee Merrien, Kylie Robilliard and Sarah Mercier, confirmed in Team Guernsey for Glasgow.
