MAX ELLIS, LML St Pierre's island spinner, took six for 13 as he turned the tide against a very feasible season's first win for Division One bottom side Clubhouse Optimists.

An intriguing game at Port Soif ultimately ended in a nine-run victory for the defending champions who for long periods seemed to be heading for another defeat, this time at the hands of the team without a win this summer.
The class of Ellis shone through, though, as St Pierre successfully defended 142 in 20 overs.
