Priaulx remains in USCC title contention after Canada

A DISAPPOINTING qualifying was turned into a positive race in Canada, with Andy Priaulx and Bill Auberlen making up four places over the 2hr 45min. sixth round of the Tudor United SportsCar Championship at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park to finish sixth in class in their BMW Z4 GTLM.

In the three free-practice sessions, the car had certainly been more on the pace of the opposition in the GTLM class but the 15min. qualifying session went badly for the team as they could only manage 10th.

Overnight the BMW Team RLL crew worked hard to find out why the black No. 55 car did not have the pace and balance they needed in qualifying, and they certainly found something as Priaulx, who was in the car for the first and final stints, said: 'The car was transformed today and was much, much better. The guys did a great job last night, as they changed everything.

'We had a good solid day, those are good points for me and Bill and this keeps us in some sort of contention for the championship.'
