Bookies make GFC favourites
WITH the new season now three days away, Dom Heaume believes Guernsey FC will continue to be 'everybody's cup final' in Ryman South.
In a sign that is sure to back that theory, two national bookmakers have made the Green Lions favourites to win the 2014-15 title.
One of the available books has GFC as 4-1 joint-favourites with Folkestone Invicta, while the other has GFC as 3-1 favourites ahead of Folkestone at 5-1.
Despite that endorsement from the bookies, Heaume insists it does not change anything as the team prepares for Saturday's opener at Chipstead.
'Whether we are favourites or not, we still approach things the same way,' said GFC's record appearance holder.
'Everybody has always treated us like their cup final and upped their game, so every match we play is a big test.'
