Up around the bend at a scary 126mph

ROUNDING Vale Castle at 100mph is enough to put the fear into anyone, but Darren Warwick was managing very nicely with those demons yesterday at the inaugural Vale Castle Sprint organised by the Guernsey Motor Cycle and Car Club.

Warwick, unsurprisingly, was the fastest of the 80-odd riders and drivers who came for a long day's racing which was rewarded with seven timed runs.

His 13.89sec. left spectators open-mouthed at the Woody's cafe finish point.

It was a superb piece of driving and Warwick was leaving nothing in reserve as he admitted later.

'I was doing about 100 around the castle and I hit the third-gear limiter which was set at 126mph,' he said.
