Priaulx League champions Bels win the Martinez Cup

BELS inflicted revenge on Rangers and ensured they picked up the first piece of silverware on offer this local season at the Track last night.

Less than three months since the sides met in the culmination of the last campaign, when Rangers won the Guernsey FA Cup, it was the league champions who reversed the outcome here with a 3-2 win.

Although both sides will have bigger fish to fry as the season wears on, securing the Martinez Cup for the fifth time in a decade was the perfect tonic for Glyn Smith's men here.

Their goals came from Sam McKenzie, Simon Marley and Joby Bourgaize while Chris Parrott and Matt Solway scored for Rangers.
