Vance fuming with poor performance

DESPITE watching a late comeback rescue a point for his side, Tony Vance was furious with his Guernsey FC players after Saturday's 2-2 draw against Whitstable Town.

Staring defeat in the face after a mightily poor performance, late goals from Glyn Dyer and Craig Young saw the Green Lions dramatically seal a share of the Ryman South spoils at Footes Lane.

But that did nothing to improve Vance's mood after watching his side stutter for the most part and fall behind to Ian Pulman's penalty and Kane Rowland's strike.

'I am not at all happy today and, as people know, I am one that when results don't go against us, try to shield the players from blame as much as possible,' the manager said.

'But today, the players must stand up and accept responsibility because we weren't good enough and the performance levels were really, really poor.'
