THIS year's altered track has led to a bumper entry for this weekend's big two-day motocross event at Pleinmont.

An event that in recent times has attracted around 40 racers will this year see more than 60 on the start lines of the various classes, around a quarter of those from Jersey.

Guernsey Kart and Motor Club president Karl Marshall is delighted with the turnout.

'To get that kind of number is brilliant because we are always trying so hard to get numbers up for all of our different events throughout the year, including the motocross series,' he said.

The GK&MC have also announced the introduction of a new 'Twisty Sprint' event for motorbikes at the North Beach on Sunday 7 September.
